Important information before installation:

Dear Customer, it is extremely important that you fully read and understand the information contained in this manual before installing the flooring, as incorrect installation of the flooring may result in a mismatch between the characteristics of the coating and the warranty conditions.

Storage and handling

• Store and unload products carefully.
• Store the products in a dry and warm place as described below.
• The parquet flooring must not be delivered to the premises before the windows and doors are installed and the necessary controlled internal environment is provided, as well as before all cement, plaster and other "wet" works are completed and all surfaces are completely dry.
• EVEROLI flooring must be stored in the packaging in the conditions in which it is planned to be installed for at least 48 hours before installation.
• All measures must be taken to prevent the products from slipping or falling.

Responsibility of the owner/trustee

• Before laying the product, bring it into the room and check its completeness.
• The owner or authorized representative is solely responsible for the final quality control of the product. 
• If possible, damage to the product during transportation must be indicated on the delivery note immediately upon signing it during delivery, and if the condition of the product is unacceptable, it must be returned.
• When ordering flooring, at least 5-7% of stock for trimming and sorting should be added to the actual quantity for normal laying and 12-13% of stock for diagonal laying of parquet boards.
• Before beginning installation, carefully inspect the floor covering for color, texture, shape, finish and quality. If the product is unacceptable, do not install it. This inspection of the entire floor covering must be done before installation.
• The flooring installer must act reasonably and selectively when rejecting or cutting off defective parts, regardless of the cause of the defect.
• If there is any doubt about the grade, workmanship or factory processing of the material and it is not possible to use a piece of board that meets the quality criteria, the nail technician should not use it and immediately contact the seller of the product.
• No claims will be considered in relation to floorboards that have already been installed.
• The installation of EVEROLI flooring should be the last step in any construction or renovation project. This prevents damage to the floor from walking and construction work. If other work is to be done in the room where the flooring is to be installed, the floor must be covered with clean fiberboard, cardboard, paper or similar material to prevent damage. It must be a breathable material.

Pre-installation measures and site conditions

• The owner or authorized representative is responsible for determining whether the surface is suitable for the installation of the floor covering and whether the work organization and site conditions meet the installation requirements. The manufacturer is not liable for damage to the floor covering caused by or related to the surface or subfloor, work performed on the site, inappropriate site conditions or defects that occur after the floor covering has been installed. All subfloors must be dry, clean, sound and level. If your floor covering is damaged due to installation that was not carried out without checking for potentially unfavorable environmental conditions, the warranty will be void.
• All doors and windows must be installed and locked. All concrete, stone, plaster, painting and other wet work must be completed, and all surfaces in the premises must be thoroughly dried. The walls should be fully finished and painted. If possible, postpone the installation of skirting boards until the flooring is complete. Exterior groundwork should be done to install a drainage system that drains water away from the building. Basements and technical floors should be dry and well ventilated.
• The concrete on which the flooring is to be installed must be cured for at least 30 days from the date of pouring, and its moisture content must meet the requirements described below.
• Parquet flooring can be installed at ground level, as well as above or below it.
• The room where the parquet is to be laid should be kept at a constant temperature of 18-24°C and humidity level of 40-60% for 14 days before and after the installation to ensure proper acclimatization of the flooring. For this purpose, it is recommended to use dehumidifiers and humidifiers. Even after installation, the humidity level in the room should not exceed 40-60%. It must be remembered that a decrease in relative humidity to 30% for a long time can cause compression or expansion of the parquet flooring, which will lead to gaps, distortions, bends and delamination.
• The underlayment must be tested for moisture content using a suitable test method. The test results must be recorded. The moisture level for concrete subfloors should not exceed 3%, for gypsum subfloors 0.5% and for wooden subfloors no higher than 12%.
• Any deviations in the level of the subfloor on which the floor covering is installed should not exceed 2 mm for every 2 meters of surface. It is common practice to check the levelness of the subfloor and to eliminate voids in it using appropriate tools, products and methods.
• Check the strength of the concrete subfloor surface by scratching it with a hard object or nail. If it crumbles, it is not strong enough for your wooden floor and, accordingly, you should not install parquet.
• Vinyl or rubber tile underlayment is not acceptable and must be removed. Tiles and other hard surfaces that are dry, firm and flat and meet the above description are suitable as a substrate on which to install the parquet flooring. As mentioned above, the surface must be strong and dense, free of paint, oil, glue, wax, grease and dirt. The tiles should be sanded or treated with a special primer to ensure adhesion.

   

Laying parquet on a "warm floor"

• The maximum permissible heat transfer level is 55W/m², and it must be uniform over the entire floor plane.
• The surface temperature should not exceed 27°C over the entire floor. At the beginning of each heating season, the temperature must be gradually and evenly increased for 7 days until the normal heating level is reached. The adhesive should not contain water and solvents, it should be elastic.

   

Tools and accessories required

• For any type of flooring installation, you will need: a dust mask, goggles, a moisture meter (for wood, concrete or both materials), a brush or vacuum cleaner, a reflective cord and chalk, an electric or hand saw, a hammer, a hardwood repair kit (filler, putty or stain), spacers (8-15 mm).
• In the case of adhesive installation, you also need: masking tape, a notched trowel (comb), and adhesive remover.

   

Base for laying parquet planks with glue

The installation of hardwood flooring with adhesive is a more complicated method of installation and is recommended to be performed by specialized professionals.

Glue-down installation is best performed on substrates made of concrete, plywood or OSB. This method is also recommended as the only way to install underfloor heating.

Step 1. Priming (only on concrete surfaces).

• Read the primer manufacturer's instructions before applying.
• Apply the primer to the surface of the base using a method convenient for you.
• After that, let the primer dry for the time specified by the manufacturer.

   

Step 2. Preparation for styling.

• Select the wall from which you will start laying. We recommend starting with the longest wall in the room and laying in the direction of human movement or light source. However, you should take into account the shape of the room and make changes if necessary.
• Leave a gap of 8-15 mm between the edges of the boards and the wall or its elements around the perimeter, taking into account the formula for calculating the size of the compensation gap: compensation gap in mm = floor width in m * 1.5. The gap is necessary for expansion and will be closed later with a skirting board.

   

Step 3. Apply the glue.

• Apply the adhesive with a notched trowel. Apply the right amount of adhesive (according to the adhesive manufacturer's recommendations) to ensure proper adhesion and in an amount sufficient to glue 2-3 rows at a time.
• Install all the bars, and then repeat all the steps.
• Make sure that the floorboard is clean of glue.

   

Step 4. Laying the first row.

• Apply glue to the floor in the place where the first row will be laid. Apply it along the length of two planks, then press the first plank in this place, aligning it with the wall.
• Lay the first row of boards from left to right, with the side with the spike facing the wall.
• After fixing the first row, start laying the second.
• Start the next row by cutting the last board of the first row, which should be no shorter than 30 cm. The distance between the joints of the boards of neighboring rows should be at least 20 cm.
• After installing the first two rows, check their position. Correct any deviations by changing the position of the board and the width of the expansion gap.
• If the position of the boards is correct, allow the glue to dry for about 30 minutes, and then continue laying.
• Never apply more adhesive than is necessary to lay the boards within the open cure time recommended by the adhesive manufacturer.
• Insert the tenon into the groove, then hit the board from the side through the padding block to seal the joint, and then press the board firmly.
• Clean the board of any adhesive residue before the adhesive has time to harden.

   

Step 5. Completion of the work, finishing touches.

• When installing the last row, cut the boards so that there is a gap of 8-15 mm to the wall. After installing the last row, allow the adhesive to dry according to the manufacturer's instructions.

• The standard EVEROLI flooring does not require any surface treatment, as the planks are already finished in the factory, except for individual orders without a factory finish.
• Clean the floor with a vacuum cleaner or a special dusting cloth. Care for the finished floor in accordance with the "EVEROLI Care and Use Manual".
• If further work is to be carried out in the room, the floor covering must be covered with clean fiberboard, porous cardboard, paper or other similar material (the material must be "breathable")
• Do not glue the material to the installed floor covering with glue, tape, adhesive tape, etc. This may cause damage to the top layer (valuable wood), for which the seller is not responsible.
• Protect the floor from damage with felt pads that are installed on the legs of the furniture.
• Save the remaining boards in case of repair.
